50HR TRAUMA SENSITIVE YIN YOGA TEACHER TRAINING

Make every yin
class a safe space

Join Fiona’s trauma sensitive yin training and learn the poses, anatomy and language to ensure students feel safe and seen

Even when you’re an experienced teacher, your students may be facing challenges and traumas you’re simply not aware of

Teaching yin yoga can be a beautiful, yet challenging journey.

Your heartfelt goal is for your students to leave class feeling rested and deeply connected to themselves.

However, it can be tough when your students can’t find ease (think fidgeting, groaning or looking around). It feels disheartening when the classes you pour your heart into don’t resonate as you hoped.

But what if you knew the variations of over 60 yin poses, so each student could find their unique ‘Goldilocks’ position?

How would your teaching transform if you had a deep understanding of the anatomy and body systems that Yin yoga affects?

How much more confident would you be if you knew exactly how to use trauma sensitive language to create safe and welcoming yin classes?

Join Fiona for two transformative weekends and discover the poses, anatomy and language to create safe and inclusive yin yoga practices

IT ALWAYS STARTS WITH YOU

During this time, Fiona offers check-ins to see how you’re progressing and provides guidance and support to help you integrate what you’ve learned and tackle any challenges that come up.

FAQs

What is the language of 'Yin' and why do you focus on it?

Since we don’t always know who is attending our classes, it’s crucial that every student truly understands what Yin yoga involves. To ensure everyone’s safety, we us the ‘language of yin’ to clearly explain what Yin feels like and offer strategies for staying in poses that might be challenging or uncomfortable. By using invitational language and providing options, we empower our students to choose pose variations that feel right for their bodies.

You mentioned calming the nervous system, why is this so important?

Fiona emphasises how to use words thoughtfully, so that they help soothe your students’ nervous systems. When you speak this way, you’re supporting students to gently and compassionately release trauma.

How do I help my students not feel triggered in a yin class?

Together, we explore how to create a safe yoga space. We learn about the key elements of ambiance – like music and scent – and how to ensure there are no triggers that could bring up traumatic memories.

You mention 'holding space' in yin yoga classes. What do you mean?

Holding space in a yoga class means choosing your words thoughtfully to guide students into their poses, and then stepping back to let them make their own adjustments. This way, you’re there to support, not to intervene physically.

Especially in trauma-sensitive Yin yoga, we keep physical assistance to a minimum to ensure everyone feels safe and respected.

Is this training suitable for new yoga teachers?

Absolutely! We cover all the foundations of Yin, all Yin yoga poses and how show you how to teach them.
